In the video below, Pat Murphy reads a text message he sent to Sal Frelick congratulating him on winning the Gold Glove Award. As expected, Murphy sent Frelick a joking message that read: “Sal. It’s amazing what a few unnecessary and intentional wall dives can do to a player. I thought you’d be too busy with classes at Brandeis University to even receive this award. The epitome of your year was an unnecessary bounce against the (Los Angeles) Angles tardy in the game with a routine fly ball that made it look like you had robbed a home run.

Re-watching Sal Frelick’s home run save against the Los Angeles Angels
One particular play that Pat Murphy mentioned in his obviously tongue-in-cheek piece Frelick Hall was a home run hit against the Los Angeles Angels. That catch by Frelick came after two runners on base, the Brewers held a three-run lead with two outs in the ninth inning. With Taylor Ward in yardage, Frelick jumped over the wall and ended the game with a saved home run.
