This Milwaukee Breweries Top pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski was recently promoted to Triple-A. Following his promotion, major league manager Pat Murphy revealed what his plans are for him for the rest of the 2024 season. That includes a potential Major League call-up at the end of the season.

Jacob Misiorowski has amassed 79.2 innings pitched in 19 Double-A starts this year. In that time, he has struck out 105 batters and held opponents to a .182 batting average against. Misiorowski was similarly dominant in the minor leagues last season, but his season was shortened after pitching 71.1 innings due to shoulder fatigue. With his promotion to Triple-A, the Brewers plan to minimize that risk from happening again by allowing him to play less time while preparing for a potential call-up at the end of the season.
Now that he’s one step away from the majors, Jacob Misiorowski could work his way into a few shorter appearances, Pat Murphy said. That would have the dual effect of controlling his innings and preparing him for a potential call-up to the pen tardy in the season.

What role will Jacob Misiorowski play with the Milwaukee Brewers this year if he makes the massive leagues?
Pitchers who can provide length were needed by Milwaukee before the July 30 trade deadline. They added Aaron Civale in early July, Frankie Montas the day before the deadline and are getting Joe Ross back from injury. They didn’t acquire a pitcher who could slot in as their ace, but if Misiorowski were called up tardy in the season, he would have the ability to start or come out of the bullpen and provide plenty of innings of coverage.
How likely is Jacob Misiorowski to be promoted at the end of the season?
Before Misiorowski was locked up in 2023, there was speculation he could be called up for the Brewers’ postseason. A year later, that’s even more true. The Brewers wouldn’t be worried about controlling his innings if they weren’t solemn about potentially calling him up.
