Rhys Hoskins and the Milwaukee Brewers lost Game 1 of the National League Wild-Card Round series against the New York Mets on Tuesday, defeating lost 8:4. Things started well for Milwaukee as the Brewers took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. However, the Mets proved to be complex to beat as they took a 3-2 lead at the end of the second frame.

Even though the Brewers have their backs against the wall, Milwaukee first baseman Rhys Hoskins believes his team will be fine.

“Obviously you want to win the first game, put some pressure on the other team,” Hoskins told reporters after the game, according to Bally Sports Wisconson (h/t Clutch points).

“But this season we have won two games in a row many times. And yes, we’ve been knocked down enough this year that we’ve also gotten back up, so I think we’re 100 percent confident that we can do it. We just have to believe in it,” Hoskins added.
