Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick suffered a hip injury Friday night against the New York Mets. He underwent X-rays and an MRI and was later found to have an injury. The Mets will return to Milwaukee for the 2024 Wild Card Series on Tuesday, Oct. 1, and Frelick says everything is ready.

While the Mets were playing a doubleheader in Atlanta, the Brewers were at American Family Field training. Among the players on the field was outfielder Sal Frelick. MLB.com reporter Adam McCalvy shared two videos of him running the bases.

Sal Frelick said he was ready to practice after going through some basic running drills.
After completing field training, Adam McCalvy was able to ask Sal Frelick how he was feeling. Frelick said he’s ready for the playoffs. The Brewers will make a final decision tomorrow when the Wild Card Series lineups are announced.

What will be the ramifications for the roster if Sal Frelick is unable to make the Wild Card Series roster?
If Sal Frelick is indeed ready to play, he is considered the starter no matter what game the team plays. Manager Pat Murphy put him in the lineup last Friday against Mets southpaw Sean Manaei with the goal of giving him more reps against lefties. If Frelick is left out of the lineup, Blake Perkins will likely replace him in the starting lineup, with goalie Tyler Black being one of the potential options to replace him in the lineup.
Regardless of whether Frelick is in the lineup or not, the Brewers have covered the ground in foul territory that caused his injury.
