Milwaukee Brewers second-round draft pick agrees to above-slot deal (report)

As the 57th pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, his estimated signing bonus value, according to MLB.com, is $1.56 million. Jersey Sports Zone interviewed Meccage after the draft, and he indicated that he had already agreed to a deal with the Brewers and would not attend the University of Virginia. Meccage described being drafted by the Brewers as “the best situation there is.”

According to an interview with Jersey Sports Zone, Bryce Meccage was surprised that the Brewers took him. He pointed out that they attended many of his games where he didn’t throw a single hit his final season, but they weren’t one of the more dynamic teams at the Combine. Meccage then revealed that a Brewers scout trained him when he was 12.
