Milwaukee Brewers: William Contreras shares electrifying confession after 2-1 win over Cleveland Guardians

The Milwaukee Brewers remain unbeaten in their ongoing three-game home series against the visiting Cleveland Guardians. After winning the first game of the series 5-3 on Saturday, the Brewers defeated the Guardians again on Saturday, 2-1.

The Brewers offense wasn’t at its best on Sunday, but it was enough to earn another W against the Guardians. William Contreras helped Milwaukee on that front with a solo home run that reached 380 feet in the fourth inning.

Contreras has seemingly found his rhythm this month, especially over the last few days. In his last six appearances, Contreras is slashing .300/.391/.950 with four home runs and five RBIs. So far in August, he’s slashing .304/.391/.768 with six home runs and 14 RBIs, along with seven walks.

“I feel really good on the field right now,” Contreras said. “I feel really comfortable and I’m not trying to do too much, I’m just trying to do what I can to help the team.”

It will be engaging to see if Contreras can maintain his form this Sunday when the Brewers and Guardians play the finale of their series. In any case, the Brewers would like to see some of the players outside of Contreras do something in the bullpen.

The Brewers, who have won all of their last four games, sit comfortably atop the National League Central standings with a 71-52 record — 10 games ahead of the rest of the division.
