Milwaukee Brewers impending free agent Willy Adames is close to signing a massive contract this offseason. The expectation is that the Brew Crew offering will be moved out of the price range they are comfortable with and that Adames will be wearing a modern uniform next season. MLB Insider recently suggested that his price tag is over $200 million and that a position move could also be on the horizon.

MLB insider Jon Heyman suggests Milwaukee Brewers winger Willy Adames will receive a $200 million contract this offseason
Over the past few years, Shortstop has been signing huge deals with organizations. Shortstops like Corey Seager, Trea Turner and Francisco Lindor have contracts worth $300 million. Additionally, Xander Bogaerts signed for $280 million, Dansby Swasnon for $177 million, and Javier Baez + Trevor Story for $140 million. Willy Adames is expected to join this elite group of players with huge contracts, and Jon Heyman believes Adames will be in the $200 million-plus range.

At Heyman’s Article from Friday Notes he also discussed that Willy Adames could play third base. Even though Adames is the most frequently available stop on the market during the off-season, this would boost the number of potential bidders. Heyman specifically named the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets as good fits for Adames as a third baseman.
Adames could also play third base, so he would also fit in with the Blue Jays and others.
Mets baseball president David Stearns took over for (Willy) Adames for Milwaukee. Could they operate him at third and move Mark Vientos to first base if Pete Alonso leaves?
MLB free agency begins the day after the World Series ends. During the first five days, Milwaukee will have their first opportunity to sign him. If no agreement is reached, he will be able to talk to all other organizations.
