Milwaukee Breweries Shortstop Willy Adames has been an iron man for the team this season. Entering play on September 19, he had started all 152 games this year. The last Brewers player to start all 162 games in a season was Prince Fielder. Fielder will remain the last player in franchise history to do so, as Adames was given a much-needed day off the day after the Brew Crew won the National League Central title.
Willy Adames was not included in the Milwaukee Brewers lineup for their game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Brewers lineup against the Diamondbacks on Thursday night featured Joey Ortiz at shortstop instead of Willy Adames. As a result, Andruw Monasterio played third base. Brice Turang, who can also play shortstop, remained at second base.

Baseball is a game of ups and downs, and before the night off, Willy Adames was in a slump at the plate. Over the past seven days, he has a batting average of just .154 with an on-base percentage of .241. In addition, he has been thrown out of the game in 26 at-bats, including three consecutive nights of multiple strikeouts (also without a hit).
