The 2024 MLB season is looking up for Milwaukee Brewers star Willy Adames, who is 29 years senior and has been first ever Brewers shortstop in franchise history, hit at least 30 home runs and 20 stolen bases in a season after stealing second base in the top half of the second inning Tuesday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on the way.
When asked to reflect on his accomplishment, Adam expressed his gratitude for the success he has achieved this season.
“This is a special season,” Adames said after the match, according to Adam McCalvy from MLB.com.
“It’s a special moment for me and my family, especially at this point in my career. I think all the work we’ve put in is paying off now. I’m happy that after all the work we’ve put in, you can see the numbers. Of course you win. I feel like that makes it even more special when you win.”
Adames not only stole a base in the Brewers’ 7-2 win over the Pirates, but also went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a walk.
For the season, Adames has hit .252/.332/.470 with 32 home runs and 111 RBI.
Willy Adames and the Milwaukee Brewers still need to finish the season robust
Adames and the Brewers have already clinched a spot in the National League playoffs by winning the National League Central division. But they are still struggling to make a better postseason berth. At 90-67, the Brewers are three games behind the league-leading Los Angeles Dodgers, 2.5 games behind the Philadelphia Phillies and one game behind the San Diego Padres.
