Milwaukee Bucks acquire 1 future star in latest trade rumors

The Milwaukee Bucks are feverishly trying to regain the form that helped them win the 2021 NBA title. However, a myriad of factors prevented the team from returning to its postseason heights, which resulted in winning the Larry O’Brien Trophy for the first time in decades.

As the team prepares for another appearance in the finals, rumors surround the team regarding its players. Stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard have been linked to leaving the team, even if the possibility of them leaving is unlikely.

While trade rumors often swirl around star players, there are rumors of a trade that would also put the Bucks in an engaging situation. If the trade is approved, Milwaukee will have a future Hall of Famer who will provide much-needed leadership in Doc Rivers’ locker room.

Chris Paul has been linked to a move to the Milwaukee Bucks midway through the 2024-25 season

Jonathan Kubicek from Athlon Sports reported that the San Antonio Spurs would be open to moving Chris Paul to the Bucks if they wanted to make one specific move:

In our proposed trial swap, Spurs would send Chris Paul and Sidy Cissoko in exchange for AJ Johnson and Pat Connaughton.

Many Spurs fans have seen that Sidy Cissoko can be a player for the long haul, and while he has all the physical tools, this season will speak volumes.

If he doesn’t get a boost within a few minutes, there’s no reason to keep him around. In exchange for giving the Bucks a spot on the national team next summer and a true leader, the Spurs will receive an undrafted rookie who won’t have much NBA experience.

Many were surprised when Paul decided to sign with the Spurs, even though everyone knows he is chasing the elusive ring missing from his impressive NBA career. The Bucks will be an intriguing fit for CP3 if Lillard moves to the shooting guard position.

Furthermore, Paul’s history with Doc Rivers would also play a huge role in a potential CP3 deal. They know each other from when they played for the Lob City Clippers and it didn’t take much to integrate the point guard into the team.

If both teams decide to make this compromise, the Milwaukee Bucks will immediately become one of the most intriguing teams in the NBA.
