Milwaukee Bucks All-Star Labeled Overpaid in Latest NBA Analysis

Despite helping the Milwaukee Bucks win a ring in 2021, Khris Middleton failed to assist the team win another championship, which is why he is seen as an overpaid player who has more flaws than pros.

Middleton underwent arthroscopic surgery on both ankles during the offseason. According to reportsHe is expected to be ready to return for the NBA opener.

Middleton’s left ankle surgery was related to a sprain he suffered earlier this year when he landed on Kevin Durant’s foot after a jump shot. The injury lingered throughout the season. The right ankle surgery was a minor arthroscopic procedure to correct a chronic problem.

Injuries have plagued the Bucks star over the past few years. A sprained ACL suffered in the 2022 playoffs could have cost the Bucks a chance to repeat as champions. He then played in just 33 games in 2022-23 as he battled another knee issue, and he only played in 55 games last season.

The Bucks are heavily dependent on the well-paid Middleton and need him at full strength if they want to compete for a championship. The team made several additions to the roster this offseason, but his health will be key to their success this upcoming season.

Compared to most players on Milwaukee’s roster, Middleton’s contract is more steep for the franchise. In Rudy LB’s article for Behind the Buck PassThe All-Star winger was recently named one of the team’s most overpaid players.

“When you look at the numbers, it can be really mind-blowing. It’s a big number that stands out. Middleton is due $31.5 million this season and more than $34 million next season! Middleton makes more than Olympian Jrue Holiday, Julius Randle, Tyler Herro and Jalen Brunson. The Bucks would probably be a much better team with any one of those four guys against Middleton.

Middleton makes more than Nicola Vucevic, Myles Turner, and Jakob Poeltl. On the other hand, Brook Lopez makes more than Nicola Vucevic, Myles Turner, and Jakob Poeltl. But without Middleton’s contract, this team would look completely different.

No one can blame Middleton for getting paid. When we start looking at his projected stats for the upcoming 2024-2025 season, it’s not it doesn’t look like he’ll be able to justify it that $31 million figure. For that reason alone, he should be placed first on our list of overpaid Bucks,” LB wrote.

Middleton played in the league for about 12 yearsThroughout his career, he averaged 16.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 46.0% from the field, 87.9% from the free throws and 38.8% from 3-point range.

The question remains whether Middleton can give the Bucks more bang for their buck when it comes to his contract. If not, expect the duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard to be more of a liability up front next season.
