Milwaukee Bucks fans who stay up to date with the latest developments on their team understand that the team needs to make a deep playoff run in the coming years. While Giannis Antetokounmpo is still widely considered one of the best players to ever grace the NBA, it’s unclear whether he will actually remain with the Bucks for the rest of his Hall of Fame career.
With the Bucks clearly not building a forceful team around Giannis and Damian Lillard, it’s uncomplicated to see the Greek oddball being disappointed with how things are going with the team. The possibility of him leaving for another team if he wants to win another NBA title and secure his legacy as one of the best is a real possibility and one the Bucks will do everything to avoid.
Some teams would move heaven and earth to have Antetokounmpo on their roster. The Golden State Warriors are among the teams with forceful ties to Antetokounmpo, and one analyst believes the Dubs are just waiting for an opportunity to bring him from Wisconsin to the Bay Area.
Analyst believes Warriors will immediately turn to Giannis Antetokounmpo if Milwaukee Bucks don’t build a deal around him
Lance Roberson of Athlon Sports relays reports from Sam Amick that the Warriors are taking a earnest look at the Antetokounmpo situation and will immediately make an offer if they see an opportunity.
He explains that the Dubs have plenty of assets they can provide to make this deal irresistible to the Bucks:
While the Warriors aren’t very juvenile in terms of their core players, they do have draft picks and juvenile players that will keep the Bucks out if the Antetokounmpo situation reaches the point of no return.
Jonathan Kuminga will be a key asset to any potential Warriors-Bucks trade. While the juvenile forward hasn’t proven much in his juvenile career, he has the makings of a franchise centerpiece that Milwaukee could build around if it had to lose Giannis via trade.
However, the Bucks front office would be the first to say they would rather keep their star player in Wisconsin than settle for an unproven acquisition any day of the week. Whether they can achieve that this season is another question entirely.
