Milwaukee Bucks: Bobby Portis asks a polarizing question about the path to an NBA championship

Right now, Bobby Portis and the Milwaukee Bucks are watching closely. This came after the Bucks suffered a painful first-round loss to the Indiana Pacers, who coincidentally made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals.

For its part, there’s no denying that Giannis Antetokounmpo’s injury played a key role in Milwaukee’s short-lived postseason run. This forces Portis to question the path any team must take to win an NBA title, and how luck plays an undeniably key role in it.

On Sunday, Portis asked an intriguing question on X, formerly Twitter, about what it takes to win an NBA championship. The Bucks veteran seems to suggest that the best team doesn’t always win and win the title:

In case you forgot, Portis recently hoisted the Larry O’Brien Trophy with the Bucks. Thanks to this, this man knows what it takes to make it in this league. This is why his inquiry is of great value here.

Considering Milwaukee’s path to the 2021 championship, it appears to be a combination of talent and luck. The Bucks were undoubtedly one of the strongest contenders for the crown this season, but there is no denying that they also had luck on their side.

It looks like that will be the case this season, especially with injuries once again becoming a key factor in deciding the outcome of several playoff series – as they have been every season.
