Like many Las Vegas Raiders fans, Milwaukee Bucks star point guard Damian Lillard was he shook his head again what happened on the court at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday. Lillard watched the Raiders get embarrassed by the previously unbeaten Carolina Panthers, 36-22.
Las Vegas Raiders disappoint Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard again
Lillard posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) that read:Smh.” Although he didn’t specify what he was referring to, it was straightforward to guess that he was referring to the Raiders’ loss in their season opener to the Andy Dalton-coached Panthers.
Lillard later wrote “Sad” in a separate post, responding to user X’s question about the Panthers-Raiders game.
The Panthers entered Week 3 with an 0-2 record and had just decided to bench struggling quarterback Bryce Young in favor of Dalton. That turned out to be a great decision by Carolina, as Dalton repeatedly cut through the Las Vegas defense. Dalton completed 26 of 37 throws for 319 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. Carolina had scored just 13 points in its previous two outings, but looked like a competent offense against the Raiders, who were outscored by more than 100 yards in the game.
Perhaps Lillard expects a better performance from the Panthers in Week 4, as Las Vegas is scheduled to host the Cleveland Browns.
Meanwhile, Lillard and the Bucks will soon ramp up preparations for the 2024-25 NBA season. The Bucks, who suffered a frustrating first-round exit in the last playoffs, are scheduled to open the recent campaign on Oct. 23 with a road game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
