The Milwaukee Bucks are on a losing streak again. After losing to the Brooklyn Nets 113-110 on Thursday, the Bucks lost again on Saturday at Fiserv Forum 105-102 to the Portland Trail Blazers. Consecutive losses to non-playoff teams don’t look good for the Bucks, whose issues were raised after the Blazers game by head coach Doc Rivers.
By Eric Nehm of The Athletic: :
Doc Rivers: “Very, very (disappointing).” It’s frustrating to watch us play… We’re not playing well and it’s happening on both sides. Defensively, we lose dribbling time and time again and hit the glass. Offensively, I don’t see us playing at a great pace.
The Milwaukee Bucks still can’t find a cure for their post-NBA Cup malaise
The Bucks made 10 more attempts from the floor than Portland, but the Blazers outrebounded them by a huge 55-43 margin. Portland also shot better from the field, connecting on 48.2% of its attempts to just 43.2% for Milwaukee. Khris Middleton made just 1 of 5 field goals in 26 minutes, and Damian Lillard needed 15 field goals to score 16 points.
The Bucks’ loss to Portland was also the Bucks’ fourth loss in five games and fifth in eight games since winning the NBA Cup championship game in Las Vegas against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Now, just above .500 with a 17-16 record, the Bucks have a golden opportunity to break the skid and get back to winning ways next Monday when they face the eight-win Toronto Raptors on the road.
