If you look at the roster on paper, the Milwaukee Bucks are one of the best teams in the NBA.
They have one of the most dominant forwards in the history of the league in Giannis Antetokounmpo. Although Damian Lillard did not have the best debut for the team, he is still one of the best point guards in the Eastern Conference. Khris Middleton may not be the lethal offensive player he once was in 2021, but he’s still a capable scorer who can make life arduous for opposing defenders.
Moreover, they have a solid group of players who can provide support to their Big Three. They also have a capable coach in Doc Rivers who can make the right changes.
However, many still dismiss the Bucks as a likely 2025 NBA Finals contender. Many still prefer the Boston Celtics or Philadelphia 76ers to be eliminated from the Eastern Conference.
While everyone is dismissive of the Bucks’ chances, many in the organization believe in the team they have built. One of the team’s executives recently made a bold statement that had Bucks fans excited and the rest of the league raising eyebrows.
The Milwaukee Bucks assistant general manager says the team’s massive three are unstoppable when robust
Bucks assistant general manager Milt Newton came to the Hear District to talk all things Milwaukee Bucks.
He touched on the team’s Big Three and stated that almost no one in the league can stop them unless injuries are a major issue.
For Jesse Cinquini of Ahn Fire Digital: :
“A healthy lady – we didn’t have Giannis – and a healthy Giannis and a healthy Khris in the playoffs, we haven’t seen anything like that,” Newton said of the Bucks organization, which was eliminated in the first round of the 2024 NBA playoffs. I believe that when that happens, we will be an unbeatable team. We will be an unbeatable team.”
Granted, it’s difficult to imagine teams being able to stop the Bucks if all three are robust. Giannis Antetokounmpo is unstoppable once he gets to the rim. Damian Lillard is a lethal three-point shooter. Khris Middleton is also a three-way shooter who can shoot at will.
But Newton’s caveat is a major clue to the Bucks’ biggest problem. At this point, Divine Providence is holding Middleton’s ankles together. Giannis missed the team’s entire postseason. Even Dame had to sit out a few games.
If the Bucks staff can keep their three stars robust, the sky is the limit for them. However, everyone knows this is easier said than done.
