On Monday, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo gave the world a taste of his soon-to-be-released Nike Giannis Freak 6 in a game against Nikola Jokić and the Serbian national team. The latest iteration of his signature shoe line is set to hit shelves later this month, and of course, there’s no better way to advertise it than for Antetokounmpo to wear it on the international stage.
It would also be a good idea to give each member of the Greek national team a pair of recent boots.

Giving away a recent pair of sneakers has become something of an annual tradition for Antetokounmpo. His Bucks teammates are usually the recipients of this wonderful surprise, but with the former MVP back-to-back overseas with the national team, it was the Greek team that got the blessing on this particular occasion.
Giannis recently shared a video of himself playing Santa Claus during the month of July, gifting each member of the national team with a recent pair of shoes.

The surprise comes just in time for the Greeks to begin their quest for Olympic gold. Coming off a brutal defeat by Serbia, perhaps this gesture from their talisman will facilitate lift everyone’s spirits.
Greece will open its Olympic campaign on Saturday with a highly anticipated match against a star-studded Canadian team, which is itself considered one of the favorites to win the entire Games — aside from the U.S., of course.
