Milwaukee Bucks: Giannis Antetokounmpo reveals one reason for 19-point comeback against Pacers

After an incredible performance, the Milwaukee Bucks improved their record to 17-14 on the season 120-112 on Tuesday afternoon, he picked up a come-from-behind victory over the Indiana Pacers. Milwaukee started the game on the offensive and was losing to Indiana 64-53 at halftime. Giannis Antetokounmpo he scored just four points in the first half, and Damian Lillard scored no points after missing his first eight shots from the field.

At one point in the third quarter, the Bucks were leading by 19 points and it looked like the game had slipped away from them. They couldn’t get a shot off; multiple turnovers were committed; Giannis had trouble with fouls.

It had all the elements of a game that you could just burn the tape and quickly move on to the next one.

And then they came back.

Giannis, playing in his first game since missing the previous four due to illness, looked sluggish to start the game. The whole team did it. Layups, mid-range shots, three-point attempts – none of them seemed to be able to get through the hoop with any consistency.

Only Indiana’s carelessness with the ball left the Bucks up 11 points at halftime.

With Milwaukee trailing by 19 points, every player looked defeated. Anyone watching the game might have thought they were ready to mail it.

However, after the break that followed, something changed. Giannis and the Bucks slowly began to make up for lost ground. Despite the deficit, the Greek Freak started chirping with Pacers forward Pascal Siakim and the fire was lit.

The two-time NBA MVP scored 26 points in the second half, finishing the night with 30 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Lillard only scored nine points, but they came in large moments when the Bucks were either chipping away at a deficit or trying to take the lead. Brook Lopez added 16 points, five rebounds and three assists, and Khris Middleton added 15 points, six rebounds and seven assists.

Both Bobby Portis and Gary Trent Jr. they scored 14 points from the benches. Portis added 15 rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Giannis Antetokounmpo owes his Milwaukee Bucks victory to Doc Rivers

After the game, Giannis was asked why he and the rest of the team were able to erase such a gigantic deficit in the third quarter. His answer according to Eric Nehm z Athletewas head coach Doc Rivers.

“Doctor. Doctor. He said the same thing in what he said in Brooklyn. I have to fight this,” Giannis began. “I just have to fight it. They’ll let us back into the game. And that’s what happens when the coach says that and then you start fighting and you see the score go from 19 to 15. And then it goes to 11. And then it goes to seven. And then it goes…

“It just gives you a dopamine kick. And you said, “Okay, fight some more. Fight some more. And suddenly you look up and see the tie. And now that you’re there, you think, “We should just win this game.” We’re already here. We should just play a little harder. Two or three more minutes, play good team basketball and win the game.

“And that’s what we did.”

At this point last season, Milwaukee was coached by Adrian Griffin and had one of the best records in the NBA. But it wasn’t as good as it seemed on the album. Of course, Griffin was fired after a 30-13 start and eventually replaced by Rivers.

The Bucks are 17-14 this year after a terrible 2-8 start to the season. However, no one in the locker room seems down or frustrated, and they speak highly of their head coach.

If fans are wondering if Giannis has a good relationship, Doc, stop wondering, and those who want to see Rivers fired will have to wait a long time.
