Things didn’t go according to plan for Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo on Sunday, as Greece lost its first Olympic game to Canada 86-79. This happened despite a tremendous effort from Antetokounmpo, who did everything he could to lead his team to victory.
Ultimately, however, Greece lacked the strength to defeat the sturdy Canadian team.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Strong Message
Giannis finished Sunday’s loss with a game-high 34 points on 11-of-17 shooting, five rebounds, two assists and just one turnover in 33 minutes of play. It still wasn’t enough.
Despite the defeat, the Bucks player sent an essential message on Twitter in which he expressed his pride in representing his country on the biggest stage.
“It’s one of the greatest feelings in the world to be able to put on the jersey and play for your country 💪🏾🇬🇷🧿,” Giannis wrote.

There’s no denying that Antetokounmpo would feel a lot better if the Greeks win. They have a chance to get their first win of the Olympics in Paris on Monday when they face Spain.
It certainly won’t be a walk in the park, but Giannis and company will have to find a way to win if they want to keep their gold medal hopes alive.
