The Milwaukee Bucks They may have been sent home after the first round of each of the past two NBA Playoffs, but their window for an NBA championship is still open. At least for now. Indeed, their goal for the 2024-25 season should be nothing less than bringing another title to the city of Milwaukee. Anything less than that will be a huge disappointment.
This is, of course, because their squad includes two of the 75 greatest players in NBA history, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. Unfortunately, neither star was fit following the series loss to the Indiana Pacers, and Giannis missed the entire series with a soleus muscle strain.
As usual, after the season ended, some wondered whether the greatest player in franchise history would request a trade. Of course, Giannis didn’t do it and won’t do it. However, recent trades during the NBA Draft have left many wondering what Milwaukee could get for Giannis if they ever traded him.
NBA analyst wonders if Milwaukee Bucks could get 10 first-round NBA draft picks for Giannis Antetokounmpo
On the first night of the 2024 NBA Draft, the New York Knicks sent five first-round picks (four unprotected picks and one protected pick) to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Miles Bridges. It was an unusually high price, especially for a player who has yet to make an NBA All-Star team. Still, the Knicks have as good a roster as any in the NBA and feel like the window to a championship is open.
Since Bridges cost the Knicks five first-round draft picks, many wondered how much a bona fide NBA star like Giannis could fetch on the transfer market.
While performance on Zach Lowe PodcastESPN’s Jonathan Giovany said:
“Five first-rounders. One of my friends said what happens if Giannis comes into Jon Horst’s office tomorrow and says he wants a trade? Are these 10 first-rounders for Giannis? That’s what worried some people.”
You have to imagine that if a player like Bridges is worth five first-round picks, Giannis would be worth much, much more. Is it possible that this trade simply changed the way things are done in the NBA regarding trading picks for players?

As mentioned, Giannis did not request a trade from Milwaukee. He has stated in the past that he will never leave Milwaukee unless they start to distract from winning. The two-time NBA MVP, who turned the Bucks into a true contender, has no desire to be part of another rebuild.
And who can blame him?
Currently, the Bucks have a roster that simply doesn’t measure up to the standards set by other NBA championship contenders. Having Giannis and Lillard means they are competitive and will have some success in the regular season. However, if they are to return to the NBA Finals, they need to add good veterans to complement both of their superstars.
