There were fireworks during the NBA Cup final match between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Oklahoma City Thunder as tensions increased in the second quarter. When Giannis Antetokounmpo got tangled up before calling a timeout with 1:56 left, Isaiah Hartenstein took the opportunity to challenge Andre Jackson Jr. during a dead ball.
Hartenstein and Jackson were given technical details about the brawl, and the Oklahoma City Thunder center explained his side of the story in a postgame interview.
“He fell off and kind of swung at the groin area.” Hartenstein explained via Joel Lorenzi of Oklahoman Sports. “If it had happened to any other teammate, I would have done the same. If the judges don’t decide this, I’ll have to take matters into my own hands.
Isaiah Hartenstein referred to the previous action when Andre Jackson Jr. he took a swing at Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s groin after pinning the Milwaukee Bucks defenseman on a screen. Gilgeous-Alexander, who made the jump shot, looked visibly hurt after that sequence.
The Oklahoma City Thunder shared their disappointment following their loss to the Milwaukee Bucks
The Oklahoma City Thunder were frustrated to leave Las Vegas empty-handed because opportunities like this don’t come along every day. Jalen Williams said it best during the team’s postgame press conference.
“Disappointed. Of course we are playing for big money” Williams stated. “I mean, you saw them celebrating; they are content. I think when there’s money involved, everyone will play hardball. But yes, I’m disappointed.
The Oklahoma City Thunder and Milwaukee Bucks will now focus on the regular season as both teams have 57 games remaining. Oklahoma City has Record 20-5, while Milwaukee is 14-11 on the season.
