Milwaukee Bucks rumored to be finalist for 26-year-old All-Star (report)

The Milwaukee Bucks enter this offseason with aspirations of making their franchise a championship contender once again. The Bucks proved to the league in 2021 that they are a championship-caliber team, but have been eliminated in the first or second round in three postseasons since this year.

However, there may be a transfer that could bring another All-Star to their team.

The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly one of the few teams with their eyes on the All-Star Game.

According to Bucks Zone on Twitter:

As the number of potential landing spots for Brandon Ingram dwindles, the Milwaukee Bucks and LA Clippers could be the teams monitoring the All-Star Game, according to Will Guillory.

“Teams like the Milwaukee Bucks and LA Clippers could use Ingram to boost their title chances… The pressure on the Pelicans grows with each passing day as they fail to solve the Brandon Ingram problem.”

According to William Guilory from The Athletic:

With the volatility that accompanies free agency each year, decisions often come down to a plain numbers game.

IN Brandon IngramIn his case, the numbers haven’t been working in his favor lately, making his future quite uncertain.

It all started when New Orleans Pelicans made it clear to him and his representative that they were not interested in signing the 26-year-old to a four-year, $208 million contract extension that Ingram sought this offseason, according to league sources.

Later he says:

With those three teams no longer considered viable destinations for Ingram, it’s strenuous to find a move that makes sense for Ingram to find a novel long-term home and for the Pelicans to get what they need in a trade. Teams like Milwaukee Bucks AND Los Angeles Clippers could apply Ingram to improve their chances of winning a title, but they would struggle to take on the massive financial risk involved in acquiring him.

Some combination of the Houston Rockets youngsters with Ingram makes sense, but Rocket aiming higher in their quest to acquire a bigger superstar. Giving up valuable assets to acquire Ingram at this point would be shortsighted.

On the other hand, teams like Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets AND Portland Trail Blazers who would take on the long-term financial risk of signing Ingram to a novel deal are more interested in entering next year’s draft than in acquiring a player who is entering the prime of his career.
