Milwaukee Bucks sign 2 fresh players ahead of 2024 training camp

The Milwaukee Bucks have done everything they can to put together the best possible roster that will facilitate Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard make a long run for the postseason.

The franchise knows that while Giannis’ injuries hurt the team’s chances of making the postseason, the roster is not competitive enough to stop a teenage and invigorating Indiana Pacers team.

Not only did they acquire an invigorating prospect in AJ Johnson, but they also created some invigorating free agent signings in Taurean Prince, Gary Trent Jr. and Delon Wright.

While some may believe the Bucks have made improvements to their overall roster, management isn’t resting on its laurels. They’ve also added a pair of promising players who will be competing for roster spots during training camp.

Cem Yolbulan from Dairyland Express writes that in order to find the best talent for their roster, the Milwaukee Bucks signed two promising players who never appeared in the NBA throughout their careers.

He shares details on undrafted rookies James Akinjo and Liam Robbins:

Both Akinjo and Robbins have been in training camps with other teams but have yet to make their NBA debuts. Akinjo is a 6-foot-1 guard who has struggled with his production throughout his basketball career. Akinjo, an undrafted free agent from the 2022 NBA Draft, spent time with the Knicks before finishing last season with the Wisconsin Herd, averaging 9.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game in 21.3 minutes of play.

Robbins is a 7-footer from Waukesha, Wisconsin, who spent five years in college at Drake, Minnesota and Vanderbilt. After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA draft, he spent a tiny stint with the New Orleans Pelicans before suffering a season-ending injury in January that kept him out of the G League game.

Both players will relish the opportunity to play for a contender and will give their all to steal a spot from one of the weaker players on the Milwaukee Bucks roster. Whether they can break into the league is another matter entirely.
