Monroe County officials are not waiting for the wave of chronic wasting disease (CWD) to cross county lines, but instead have decided to fight it directly, without causing deaths.
They’re tackling chronic wasting disease with rounds of information. One such informational session took place Aug. 19 at Wilton American Legion Post 508, where 33 people attended a three-hour summit on chronic wasting disease, an educational event where Wisconsin DNR staff joined hunters and landowners to share the latest information on prion disease and steps they can take to sluggish its spread.
