More Right Photos: Time to Consider a Tripod?

It was the first day of my spring turkey hunt. There was an occasional gurgling sound coming from a ridge 200 yards southwest of my tent, which I had set up beneath the branches of an aged white pine.
At about 7:15 a.m. the gurgling began to draw closer. The buck was still approaching, giving a few tender squeaks of encouragement at the sound of his diaphragm. I took a quick look at the hen and buck decoys about 20 yards east of the hide, then refocused on the source of the gurgling. As I lined up the crosshairs of my 2.5x scope on the bird’s neck, I was certain of my shot because the fore-end of my 12-gauge rifle was securely in the yoke of my Vanguard tripod.
