It’s tough to pick David and wide receiver Mike Evans, because they’re essentially the same player on their side of the field. But while Evans has finally started to get his justifiable attention over the past few seasons, David remains easily one of the most underrated players of his generation in the entire league. Even at age 33 last year, David was consistently the Bucs’ best defender on the field and still one of the best linebackers in the NFL. His presence as a playmaker on the field in every situation (run, pass, blitz) and a respected leader in the locker room make him invaluable to the Bucs. With several key departures on defense this offseason (Shaq Barrett, Carlton Davis III, Devin White), David’s reliable presence will be even more vital to Tampa Bay’s success in 2024.
