NBA Analysis Names Milwaukee Bucks Most Desirable Trade Assets

The NBA is about a month away from returning for a fresh season, and the Milwaukee Bucks will be looking to win another ring. To do so, they could make some moves involving a few players on their roster.

Bucks looking to bounce back in the 2024-25 season after a disappointing previous season. After a forceful start with a record of 30-13, the team faced challenges that led to the firing of coach Adrian Griffin and the hiring of Doc Rivers, who struggled with a record of 17-19. The Bucks were ultimately eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Indiana Pacers, plagued by injuries to key players such as Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Heading into this season, the Bucks are hoping that the continuity of the Lillard-Antetokounmpo pairing will yield better results. They will open the season against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 23, 2024, and are seen as one of the teams capable of challenging the defending champion Boston Celtics.

Their games against the Celtics and 76ers will be key in determining their playoff position. If everything falls into place, the Bucks could thrive, but inconsistencies could hinder their prospects. The 52-30 record reflects the uncertainty, underscoring the potential for both success and challenge as they seek a deeper playoff run this year.

With the trade deadline set for next year, the Bucks still have time to make the most of their assets, as identified in an NBA analysis by Greg Swartz from Bleacher Report.

Top Trading Assets: F Bobby Portis, SG AJ Johnson, 2031 first-round draft pick

Untouchables: F Giannis Antetokounmpo, PG Damian Lillard

The Milwaukee Bucks traded the farm for Jrue Holiday, then traded Holiday and more for Lillard. Bucks fans have to hope this roster stays robust because there’s no real outside facilitate coming, especially as Milwaukee enters the second tier of the draft.

Bucks have talented stafffeaturing superstars and forceful supporting players like Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis. But questions remain about the chemistry between Lillard and Antetokounmpo, Middleton’s injury history and Rivers’ ability to lead effectively.

If things don’t work out, expect the aforementioned trade assets to be considered during the season. Hopefully, these potential moves can make the Bucks credible championship contenders.
