NOTre Dame boys basketball establishes the culture of the victorious future for future tritons by “being hunters”

Green Bay – two years ago, boys’ basketball team from the Notre Dame Academy won their first regional championships in the history of the program.

Last year, in the regional final match they did not meet their expectations, and this year they started with a red and white result of 9-2, and as they say, it is because they are hunters, not animals.

“Being hunters means that we can’t sit and rest,” said the senior striker Andrew Rader. We have to win and I think it shows our culture.

When four years ago the main trainer Brian Bobinski took over the Tritons program, he wanted to instill the winning culture and knew that this senior class could build something wonderful. This year they took second place in the Fox River Classic conference.

“When people think about Notre Dame, they wanted them to know that basketball is something that we do here, and thanks to our recent success I think people are starting to know it,” said Rader.

“From a coaching point of view, it is always special to observe the development that the group can achieve over time, and when you start to be real success, it is really satisfying, because that’s what you want for children,” said Bobinski.

The year 2024 did not go as they wanted, but in the whole period, which moved to 2025, some encouraging signals were noticed.

“Defensive concepts, attack – sharing the ball and simply a desire to sacrifice their own individual achievements for the good of the team” – Bobinski said about last year’s development of his team. “You could see it last year, you could feel it.

They are also healthy this season. The older player Andrew Rader, who records on average double-double, and the defender of Drew Siudziński play 100%for the first time in several years.

“We joined them with juniors and second -year students who believed in our concept of the team,” said Bobinksi. “It’s just a really unique group in which you should be.”

A special group that is deep. 6 different tritons have an average of eight points or more.

“There were many matches in which we won only because one player scored 10 points above the average,” said older Adam Guyette, the other best shooter in the team. “It was a really great event. It is arduous to follow them because everyone can play a good match every evening. “

As for the rest of the season, seniors simply want to set the bar high to future tritons.

“This is a huge event for all of us. When we come back here, whether in a year or even in a few years as graduates and we see success – we want to know that we had a huge participation in it, “said Rader.
