Notre Dame will host Indiana on Friday night in South Bend to kick off the 2024 College Football Playoffs. The Fighting Irish have several players who could potentially suit up for the Green Bay Packers in the 2025 NFL Draft. Let’s take a look at three defensive players and one offensive player that Packers fans should watch.
Jack Kiser, LB
With his toughness and leadership, Kiser will have defensive and special teams coordinators pounding the table on Day 3 of the draft. Kiser has 929 snaps on special teams and 14 tackles.
Kiser processes the action in front of him quickly and has a high batting average as a forward. He moves well laterally and looks comfortable when getting into coverage. He plays with just the right amount of madness expected from a linebacker.
A year after spending two second-day picks on linebackers, it’s difficult to imagine the Packers spending a premium pick on linebackers again in 2025.
With his mentality and special teams experience, adding Kiser to the mix on day three is a real possibility for the Packers.
Rylie Mills, DT
At 6-5, 297 pounds, Mills cuts an imposing figure. Has a robust upper body that allows for initial attack after the snap. He enters Friday’s fight with a bit of enthusiasm. Over the last four games, Mills has recorded 4.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks to go along with 12 pressures. It’s worth noting that three of those sacks came against Florida State. However, in the remaining three games, he recorded eight pressures and 1.5 tackles for loss without his running mate Howard Cross III, who was injured during the FSU matchup and is expected to return for the matchup against Indiana.
Howard Cross III, DT
At 6-1, 289 pounds, Cross is more similar to Mike Daniels’ build. He is an athletic defensive tackle with lateral quickness to make plays up and down the line of scrimmage. Cross takes a quick first step and once he gets past his man, he has the strength to get to the quarterback. He plays with a lot of pressure and causes a lot of chaos on the defensive line.
Beaux Collins, WR, Notre Dame (No. 5)
Collins is a well-built winger who is dripping with size, speed and strength. The Clemson transfer recorded 34 receptions for 472 yards and two touchdowns. The Packers could look to pursue an athletic wide receiver on day three of the draft.
