Green Bay Packers reportedly added two more players to their injured list on Tuesday Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.
Newly injured players and their ailments include:
RB AJ Dillon: Stinger
OL Andre Dillard: Shoulder
TE Tyler Davis: Shoulder
DE Preston Smith: Disease
Spencer Waege: Concussion
Dillon’s injury could explain why he missed Sunday’s preseason game against the Denver Broncos, although it’s unclear when the injury occurred. Smith, who looked great during Friday’s joint practice with the Broncos, was one of 31 players who missed Sunday’s game, including most of the team’s starters.
Dillard, Davis and Waege played in 66 total snaps for Denver, but their injuries were not reported during the game. All three players are competing for spots on the 53-man roster. Dillard started at left quarterback and did not allow a sack or pressure on seven pass-blocking snaps. Davis was assessed a holding penalty but did not receive a target or record a tackle on special teams, while Waege had two tackles on 32 defensive snaps.
Rookie linebacker Ralen Goforth also did not play Tuesday due to a concussion he suffered against the Broncos.
On a positive note, head coach Matt LaFleur provided an update on starting linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, stating he will participate in individual drills on Tuesday.
Saturday is the final preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens, so the top players will have one last chance to prove why they should be on this year’s team.
