The Green Bay Packers practice on Sunday before Thursday’s game against the Detroit Lions, and Matt LaFleur’s team put two substantial pieces on the field to start the week.
Cornerback Jaire Alexander and receiver Romeo Doubs practiced Sunday afternoon. according to Wes Hodkiewicz from the band’s official website.
Alexander has missed the last two games – both wins – while recovering from a flare-up of a knee ligament injury he first suffered in Week 8. Doubs suffered a concussion during the Packers’ victory over the San Francisco 49ers and missed last week’s victory over the Miami Dolphins while in the league’s concussion protocol.
The pair’s presence at practice on Sunday – even with a constrained number of players – is a great sign of their readiness for the substantial division matchup against the Lions at Ford Field in Week 14.
According to Hodkiewicz, the two players who are not practicing are linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, who suffered a hamstring injury and missed back-to-back games, and cornerback Corey Ballentine, who suffered a knee injury in the first game Thursday night.
Coach Matt LaFleur will answer questions later Sunday. The first official injury report of the week won’t be released until Monday, with final status updates on Wednesday.
