Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander did not participate in Friday’s practice, which is his final on-field work before Matt LaFleur’s team travels to Seattle to play the Seahawks on Sunday night in Week 15.
It is unclear whether Alexander suffered a knee injury or if he will receive a scheduled day off before Sunday. This post will be updated as more information becomes available.
For Mike Spofford from the band’s official websiteAnother one who didn’t participate in Friday’s practice was rookie defensive end Javon Bullard. Bullard missed all three practices this week with an ankle injury he suffered last Thursday night in Detroit and is expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Seahawks.
Alexander practiced on Wednesday and Thursday, suggesting he would return to the field after missing three games later this week. The two-time All-Pro cornerback first suffered a knee injury in Week 8 in Jacksonville and then suffered an injury flare-up following the bye week in Chicago last month.
LaFleur will address the media after Friday’s practice, so we’ll have more details.
The Packers will release their final Week 15 injury report on Friday.
Alexander has only played seven games for the Packers this season. He has two interceptions, seven passes defended and one fumble recovery.
If Alexander is unavailable in Seattle, the Packers will rely on Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine and Eric Stokes at cornerback against the Seahawks’ receiving trio of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.
