For the first time in 30 years, the Green Bay Packers have a up-to-date equipment manager. The team announced the hiring of Chris Kuehn on Monday, about two months after the retirement of longtime equipment manager Gordon “Red” Batty.
Kuehn has been with the Packers since the 2010 season. He was promoted to equipment assistant in 2020 under Batty.
According to the Packers, Kuehn has been responsible in recent years for “the development of programs to assist with equipment tracking, staff scheduling, ordering custom apparel for coaches/staff, and a new order form for custom jerseys.”
Kuehn also spent time as an assistant equipment manager with the AAF and XFL.
Tim Odea will be Kuehn’s equipment assistant, according to the team’s website. Tom Bakken and Bryan Nehring are assistant equipment managers.
