Packers officially add K Brayden Narveson, sign two other players to practice squad

The Green Bay Packers officially announced on Thursday that they have acquired kicker Brayden Narveson off waivers and signed two players to the team’s practice squad.

Narveson was acquired from the Tennessee Titans’ reserve roster. He cleared the Packers’ medical and is now on the 53-man roster as the team’s lone kicker. Narveson, a rookie out of North Carolina State, has scored six of seven field goals and both extra points for the Titans in the preseason.

Narveson will wear number 44, the number he wore in college.

The Packers also signed defensive quarterback Omar Brown and middle linebacker Chris Russell Jr. to the practice squad, bringing the total number of practice squad members to 15 from 17.

Brown, an undrafted rookie out of Nebraska, spent training camp with the Denver Broncos. He was a top-30 pick by the Packers heading into the 2024 draft. Brown played in 52 snaps in three preseason games with the Broncos.

Russell, a college teammate of Edgerrin Cooper at Texas A&M, was a tryout for the Packers in May and then signed in August. He played in 31 snaps for the Packers in two preseason games and was the second-highest-graded defensive player by Pro Football Focus. He had six sacks and played well on both defense and defense.
