Packers QB Jordan Love is expected to play against the Vikings

The Green Bay Packers are signing quarterback Jordan Love for Sunday’s NFC North clash with the Minnesota Vikings. According to reports, both NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport AND Adam Schefter of ESPNThe Packers expect Love to be lively and play Sunday against the Vikings.

Love suffered a left knee injury in the MCL against the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, September 6 in the season opener. He missed games against the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans, which he won with backup Malik Willis under center.

The Packers are currently 2-1 heading into a key early season showdown against the undefeated Vikings at Lambeau Field.

In his first game back, Love will face the dynamically developing Vikings defense, coordinated by experienced coach Brian Flores. Minnesota ranks second in points allowed and first in sacks through three weeks. Neither Brock Purdy nor CJ Stroud has been able to consistently unlock the Vikings’ defense over the last two weeks.

Love completed 17 of 34 passes for 260 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Packers’ 34-29 loss to the Eagles in Brazil. He was injured on the second-to-last play from scrimmage while trying to avoid a sack.

Willis, who was acquired in a trade on Aug. 27, posted a passer rating above 120.0 in wins over the Colts and Titans.

The Packers listed Love as questionable for the game against the Vikings. He practiced on a circumscribed basis on all three days over the past two weeks.
