Packers sections way too early. 2025 Draft Preview: PFF’s Top 10 RBs

It’s way too early to worry about predicting what the Green Bay Packers can and can’t do in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, it’s not too early to start compiling a list of names to watch the college football season.

Pro Football Focus recently reviewed all 11 positions and selected the top 10 draft prospects from each. This is who they chose during their escape. For more information on each player, click Here.

Given GM Brian Gutekunt’s track record during the NFL Draft when everyone expected it to happen, we often can’t completely rule out the Packers taking any position, especially when Day 3 comes around. However, at this point we can say that the running game won’t be on top of the priority list – or anywhere near it – for the Packers in 2025.

In the offseason, the Packers signed Josh Jacobs to a four-year deal through the 2027 season. They would also select USC quarterback Marshawn Lloyd in the third round of this year’s draft.

Although AJ Dillon will be a free agent again next offseason, my guess at this point is that it’s more likely that Emanuel Wilson will return at least for training camp next summer on an exclusive rights or restricted free agent contract – both of which are inexpensive and team-friendly .

Of course, things can change, but it’s entirely possible that the Packers already have their top three running backs on their roster for the 2025 season.

As I mentioned, anything can happen in the latter part of the third day of the draft, so perhaps Gutekunst could add some competition at the end of the running back depth chart next April. However, for at least the next few seasons, the Packers will be lined up with both starting and backup positions.
