Kraft, a third-round pick in 2023 who started eight games for the Packers as a rookie, began training camp on the PUP list after having surgery to repair a pectoral injury he suffered in the offseason, a strain he suffered while bench pressing in May.

Like most players returning from injuries during training camp, Kraft will likely begin training in individual periods before returning to 11-on-11 play.

Kraft caught 31 of 40 targets for 355 yards and two touchdowns in 17 regular-season games and 621 plays last season. He added five catches for 24 yards and a touchdown in two postseason games. His 355 receiving yards were the second-most by a rookie tight end in team history.

Kraft played at least 80 percent of the offensive snaps in eight consecutive games to end the regular season.

Kraft is a versatile quarterback who can block and catch and is expected to play a significant role in the Packers’ 2024 quarterback duo with Luke Musgrave.

This week, the Packers will hold open practices on Tuesday and Wednesday before traveling to Cleveland for their season opener on Saturday.
