The Green Bay Packers reportedly held a workout for quarterback Jake Fromm on Friday. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The Packers quarterbacks reported to training camp on Wednesday. The team’s first practice is scheduled for Monday.
The Packers currently have Jordan Love, Sean Clifford and rookie Michael Pratt at quarterback. If signed, Fromm would be the No. 4 quarterback. General manager Brian Gutekunst has an open spot on the roster since Friday.
Fromm was drafted in the fifth round by the Buffalo Bills in 2021. Through three games and two starts in the NFL, Fromm has completed 25 of 60 passes (45 percent) for 210 yards, one touchdown pass and three interceptions. He made both starts with the New York Giants — who signed him to the Bills’ practice squad — in 2021.
Fromm spent last season on the Washington Commanders practice squad. He was released in May.
Fromm was outstanding during the preseason last year, completing 28-of-41 passes for 262 yards, three touchdown passes and one interception for the Commanders.
Fromm joined the NFL after three seasons as a starter at Georgia. He threw 78 touchdown passes and 18 interceptions in 43 college starts.
Fromm is 188 cm lofty and weighs 96 kg. He turned 26 at the end of this month.
