The decision is due to the fact that Packers-Vikings is a protected game for FOX due to the broadcast of the first game on CBS. In this Week 4 matchup, Minnesota jumped out to a 28-0 lead against Green Bay came roaring in the second half, only to lose little wa 31-29 loss.

The upcoming rematch could still have significant implications for the NFC North division race and playoff seeding. Green Bay has an outside chance to win the division and potentially secure the NFC’s No. 1 seed – though it would take a near-miracle.

The Packers would have to win and the Philadelphia Eagles would have to lose, while the Vikings and Lions would have to lose in Weeks 16 and 17 but would have to tie the Week 18 matchup.

While the Packers-Vikings series will not air during prime time, it can still be moved to behind schedule afternoon, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN. The league has until next Tuesday to finalize any further adjustments.
