Packers Wire sections personnel projections: Week 13 vs. Dolphins

The Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins will face each other on Thursday evening at Lambeau Field.

Can the Packers eat up yards and stuff the dolphins on Thanksgiving in Green Bay?

Here’s how the Week 13 matchup against the Dolphins will play out, according to the Packers Wire staff:

Zach Kruse: Packers 24, Dolphins 20 (6-5)

The Dolphins have a quarterback who plays quickly and efficiently, a defense that hasn’t allowed more than 20 points in nearly a month and experienced playmakers on both sides of the football. This will be a tough test for Matt LaFleur’s team, especially in a brief week. The Packers should have some advantages built in ahead of the game – Green Bay is home, recently had a bye (which gives it time to prepare for a brief week), and may have an advantage with a forecast calling for icy and windy conditions. Still, the Packers need to come out and play at their best to beat a confidence-gaining Dolphins team. Can LaFleur’s team have the physical and mental toughness to play in the icy on a brief week? The Run Packers game is presumed to provide the difference. The Dolphins have struggled to keep possession of the ball this season and Josh Jacobs is really starting to come into his own as a ruthless tackle breaker. He’s the physical, tone-setting presence the Packers need in a game like this. Write this down too: Tucker Kraft – another tackle breaking machine – will create a game-changing play or two with the ball in his hands.

Brandon Carwile: Packers 24, Dolphins 17 (9-2)

The Dolphins are on a three-game winning streak, but they’ll face a completely different challenge when they head to Green Bay for a frosty Thanksgiving night game. Tua Tagovailoa has revitalized Miami’s offense since returning from a devastating concussion, and the Dolphins have averaged nearly 30 points per game over the last five contests. Their offensive versatility should keep the score close in this game, but Green Bay’s home court advantage and comfort playing in the elements should give them the advantage. I expect Josh Jacobs, fresh off a 100-yard, three-touchdown performance, to have another massive day against a defense unaccustomed to icy temperatures.

Brennen Rupp: Packers 20, Dolphins 17 (10-1)

Due to its speed, Miami’s offense will put pressure on Green Bay’s second level of defense, and it will be necessary for them to work together to counter and limit explosive plays. When it comes to attacking, the formula is straightforward. Feed Josh Jacobs. Miami’s defense is allowing 4.3 yards per carry, and Jacobs should be able to continue feasting. Give me the Packers struggling against the Dolphins to keep up with the Lions and Vikings.

Writer Forecast Result Record
Zach Kruse Win 24-20 6-5
Brandon Carwile Win 24-17 9-2
Burn Rupp Win 20-17 10-1
