Packers WR Romeo Doubs continues his stellar summer with a commanding performance at Family Night

Under the spotlight at Lambeau Field in early August, Green Bay Packers quarterback Romeo Doubs continued his stellar summer with another impressive performance during the team’s family practice.

Doubs, who is entering his third season, made four of the game’s most vital plays in 11-on-11 periods with Jordan Love and the first-line offense.

In the red zone, Doubs won a slant against Eric Stokes and caught a touchdown pass from Love. One play later, he beat Keisean Nixon on a fade route, knocking the ball into the end zone for another score.

He wasn’t just a red-zone producer. On a third down, Love made a rushed throw under pressure and Doubs moved the bat, overcoming a contested catch and returning the ball against tight coverage by Jaire Alexander. Then he created one of the biggest plays of the night for the offense when he ran a nifty break-in route, moving left to right, and found himself wide open in the middle of the field.

Doubs has put in a great performance nearly every day of training camp, either in 1-on-1 or 11-on-11 situations. This summer looks to be nothing more than a continuation of what Doubs built on at the end of last season, when he led the Packers with eight touchdowns and then produced a team-high 10 receptions for a team-high 234 yards in two postseason games.

Doubs wasn’t the only Packers player to have a gigantic play on Family Night. Christian Watson had a 20-yard gain on the first play of 11-on-11 and also had a gigantic catch against Alexander on a 1-on-1, Jayden Reed caught a touchdown pass on a 1-on-1 from Love, and Dontayvion Wicks had a touchdown in the red zone and a gigantic play on a phony play from Love. Bo Melton also had a couple catches.
