Paint Cedarburg: Outdoor painting event and exhibition

The Cedarburg Artists Guild will host its annual Paint Cedarburg event June 6-15. Over 165 artists will wander through our charming city, painting picturesque landscapes live before your eyes. Paint Cedarburg is nationally recognized as Wisconsin’s largest gathering of artists, kicking off with a week of live painting, events and challenges, and culminating with a public art sale at the Cedarburg Cultural Center of “fresh” art that can be purchased and taken home that day.

Plein Air, a French term meaning “in the open air”, describes works of art painted outdoors, with the subject on view rather than in a studio. Outdoor artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or object by incorporating natural airy, color and movement into their works. Artists flock to Cedarburg to capture the beauty of this historic town and its rolling landscapes filled with farms. Art lovers can enjoy the opportunity to spend time with an artist while he or she works.
