Petite packages can produce massive results for gobblers

As the morning fog began to clear, a tomcat jumped out of the nest. Perched on a gigantic blackberry branch at the edge of the woods leading to a cut corn field, the gigantic bird contented itself with waiting for the chickens to come to it.
My blind was leaning against thickets of wild plum trees next to the property line. Hen and Jake decoys were placed 30 yards away at 10 o’clock next to him. Since I couldn’t shoot into the next field, the tom would have to move to my side of the fence.
