Public participation is needed to track game birds in Wisconsin using a novel phone app

The Wisconsin DNR is asking that more citizens keep an eye on roads during August to aid with gamebird breeding surveys.
DNR Turkey Assistant and pheasant ecologist Alissa Kakatsch said monitoring game bird reproductive success is an significant part of the DNR’s game bird management program. Last year, the DNR launched the free Survey123 phone app, which allows the public to record and submit observations of turkey, sage grouse, pheasant and gray partridge breeding in August.
