It’s no secret that almost every NBA fan who doesn’t support the Milwaukee Bucks would move heaven and earth to have Giannis Antetokounmpo on their side. The forward is one of the most dominant forwards in the contemporary NBA.
His unique combination of size and athleticism still leaves opponents unable to find a way to stop him. He’s also a proven winner, bringing the Larry O’Brien Trophy to Milwaukee in 2021 after defeating Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns.
He is such a profitable player that there are teams consistently interested in making a gigantic deal for him. One of his most popular suitors is the Golden State Warriors, and Paul Pierce even suggested that the Dubs should be willing to sell the farm to bring him to the Bay Area.
While many Bucks fans would rather see the team lose every playoff series than have their star win against another team, an analyst’s take on Dubs’ ownership mentality all but confirmed rumors of a potential Giannis trade.
Analyst reveals Warriors’ willingness to trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo from Milwaukee Bucks
Sam Amick of The Athletic reported that the Warriors, especially owner Joe Lacob, are interested in bringing in Giannis. However, they also understand that they are more likely to have to settle for Khris Middleton because the Bucks have no interest in moving their star forward.
For Alexander Rosquez from Bolavipa: :
“I think in the NBA we will always monitor when the wheels fall off [Milwaukee] Dollars. We know that Joe Lacob has dreamed for a very long time about Giannis getting in the way of the Warriors,” Amick said on “The TK Show” podcast. “Again, unlikely, but Khris Middleton will be a free agent next summer. He was hurt so badly.”
It’s easy to imagine why the Warriors would want Antetokounmpo. The Milwaukee Bucks star can draw attention with his unstoppable drives to the basket, making life easier for Stephen Curry from the three-point line.
However, the dream of seeing these two working together will remain the same. Unless they somehow convince the Bucks to move on from their tar, they’ll have to settle for imagining how such a pairing would play out.
