Salmon fishing, beauty of Mendenhall Glacier, Alaska trip highlights

If there is anything more thrilling than the cry of “Fish in the net!” it is surely “Two fish in the net!”
A father and son battle with two kisuck salmon at the same time was the highlight of the Alaska trip. On a morning charter trip, the first fish hit a squid jig in about 40 feet of water, and the rod began pumping up and down as I tried to start reeling in the fish.
The next thing I knew, the second rod was pumping up and down, and my son, Shawn Eisele of Juneau, Alaska, took it and began to reel it in. As we filled in line, each reel in turn squealed as each fish pulled against the brake. Eventually, we began to get line back onto the reel.
