There was a lot of tension between Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs and members of the Green Bay Packers defense leading up to Sunday’s game. Before the start of the match, Diggs got into a heated exchange with corners Jair Alexander and Keisean Nixon and had to be separated.

The story of Alexander and Diggs goes back to when Diggs played for the Minnesota Vikings. In 2022they were caught exchanging words while escaping from the tunnel when Diggs was a member of the Buffalo Bills.
However, Alexander consistently defeated Diggs whenever they met. Before Sunday, Alexander and Diggs had faced each other six times, according to Pro Football. In those six contests, Diggs was targeted seven times against Alexander’s coverage for three receptions and 21 yards. Basically, Alexander was dominant. This dominance continued on Sunday. According to PFF, Diggs had one target against Alexander that was incomplete.
Diggs wasn’t the only one who had trouble defending Green Bay’s passes. Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud completed less than 50 percent of his passes and set a modern career-high in passing yards with 86. Diggs was responsible for 23 of those yards, his lowest total of the season, on five receptions.
Despite the shutdown, Diggs still had plenty to say about the pregame altercation.
“I don’t care if I’m alone or with a million. I’m never the bigger person. I won’t let… go,” Diggs said after the game DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN. – They took this or something. But I’m not with that tough football guy…
Alexander did not comment after the game, although forward Rashan Gary shared his thoughts: “Every game we play is an crucial game, but just understanding what type of team this team is and where we want to go in the season, you have to take care of yours today matters. And all that pre-game chirping. We don’t like that fraudulent, difficult stuff because we have 60 minutes to play football and that’s what we did today.
The Packers overcame three first-half deficits to defeat the Texans 24-22 on a field goal by kicker Brandon McManus. The defense deserves a lot of credit for keeping them in the game and making it a very frustrating day with a top five passing attack.
