The Green Bay Packers have officially signed fifth-round draft pick Kitan Oladapo. Above the Cap now has details on what Oladapo’s rookie deal will look like.
Oladapo signed a standard four-year rookie contract worth $4.274 million with a signing bonus of $254,276.
Oladapo will receive his full signing bonus up front, but in terms of the salary cap, this amount may be pro-rated over the life of the contract. In compact, the maximum cap on this bonus in 2024 is just $63,569.
This prorated signing bonus plus a base salary of $795,000 represents Oladapo’s cap hit this season, which is $858,569.
Looking ahead, beyond 2024, the $63,569 cap hit from the prorated signing bonus will be booked by the Packers for all four years of the contract, and Oladapo’s base salary will also enhance each year.
In 2025, Oladapo’s base salary will be $960,000. In 2026, it will enhance to $1.075 million and in 2027 to $1.190 million.

2024: $858,569
2025: $1.023 million
2026: $1.138 million
2027: $1.253 million
Like fellow draft picks Javon Bullard and Evan Williams, the Packers like the fast-paced, physical style of play that Oladapo brings to the defense, as well as his versatility.
Unlike Bullard and Williams, however, the Packers view Oladapo as more of a established safety who is capable of playing both the free and forceful safety positions, as GM Brian Gutekunst put it. Gutekunst also added that Oladapo could also play in the role of Sam’s gigantic defender.
“I feel comfortable anywhere on the pitch,” Oladapo said. “Whatever the team needs me to be: be in the box, be in the post, tackle, defend tight ends, guard spots. I can do it all. I feel comfortable just having both feet on the grass.
As a rookie, Oladapo may have the biggest impact on the special teams unit this season.
Oladapo is still recovering from recent toe surgery he suffered at the NFL Combine. His hope is to return to the field during training camp.
