Brayden Narveson’s journey to the NFL took the rookie from Nashville to Green Bay and now back to Nashville. According to NFL Network’s Mike GarafoloThe Tennessee Titans are signing Narveson, who spent the first six weeks of the 2024 season with the Packers, to the team’s practice squad.
Narveson, who went undrafted after leaving N.C. State, made 6 of 7 field goals in the preseason for the Titans but was waived, giving the kick-needy Packers a chance to get off waivers after final cuts.
But Narveson wasn’t the solution in Green Bay. He made 12 of 17 field goals — four missed from 40-49 yards and another from under 40 yards — over the first six games before the Packers reversed course on Oct. 15 and moved on from veteran Brandon McManus.
Narveson has been working for teams over the past few months but has not signed a contract. He will now return to the Titans and likely be in line for kicking duties with veteran Nick Folke, who has been dealing with an injury this week.
McManus has made 11 of 12 field goals – including two game-winners – and has scored all 20 of his extra points since signing with the Packers.
Both coach Matt LaFleur and general manager Brian Gutekunst said they thought Narveson would be an effective kicker at the NFL level, but the Packers – an NFC contender – didn’t have time to wait for the rookie kicker to figure it out.
The Titans play the Cincinnati Bengals in Nashville on Sunday.
