The Green Bay Packers began on-field preparations for their game against the Seattle Seahawks without rookie defensive end Javon Bullard, but otherwise Matt LaFleur’s team was almost fully prepared in terms of participation, which is a good sign considering the list of injured players who will start in the 15 .week.
For Mike Spofford from the band’s official websiteBullard did not participate, but linebacker Jaire Alexander, receiver Romeo Doubs, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, backup Evan Williams and linebacker Corey Ballentine were on the field during Wednesday’s practice.
Bullard suffered an ankle injury Thursday night against the Detroit Lions. LaFleur said it wasn’t a earnest, long-term injury but was more likely to occur from week to week, meaning Bullard will likely miss this week’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.
However, it is possible that reinforcements will come in the form of returning players.
Alexander missed three straight games with a more earnest knee injury. Doubs missed back-to-back games while in the concussion protocol. Cooper missed three straight games after injuring his hamstring in practice. Williams sat out Thursday night’s loss in Detroit with a concussion. Ballentine missed last week with a knee injury.
It is unclear whether Doubs and Williams are still in the concussion protocol. By Monday, Doubs was not yet immaculate. However, participation in football activities is part of the settlement protocol. Both players must be cleared by an independent consultant.
It’s possible that both Alexander, the team’s best corner, and Cooper, the team’s starting quarterback, will return from weeks of injuries. The Packers could operate both Geno Smith and the Seahawks’ talented offense.
The Packers will release a preliminary injury report along with participation results later Wednesday.
The Packers also brought back Luke Musgrave, who was expected to return from injured reserve. He has been sidelined since week four following ankle surgery. With an open roster spot, the Packers could add Musgrave anytime between now and Sunday’s trip to Seattle.
